The following are things you need to know prior to your pet's stay:

All visits are by reservation only. Make your reservations as far in advance as possible. Holidays and weekends do book up. If you are new to Woofs ‘n Whiskers please fill out our online new client form. If you are a current client drop us a line via email or phone to book your visits!
The following are things you need to know prior to your pet’s first scheduled visit:
- We must set up a meet and greet between you, your pet(s) and our walker/sitter.
- We ask that you have filled our online new client form before the meeting.
- You must have two (2) sets of working keys to your apartment at the time of the meeting.
- One set is for the dog walker/pet sitter.
- The other set stays at the office in case of any emergency.
- We only accept credit card payments from our dog walking & pet sitting clients.
- Payments are run on Friday for the current week’s services.
- If we are unable to run payments for two consecutive weeks, we will be unable to offer services until the account is up-to-date. For dog walking, this would mean suspending walks until payment is received.
- Weekend, holiday, late night walks/visits are an additional $5/walk (or visit).
- Same day requests are an additional $5/walk (or visit).
- Requests made after office hours are considered next day. (ie. Messages left after 7pm M-F, 6pm S-S will be received the next day and will incur a same day request fee.)
- We require at least 24 hour notice to cancel a scheduled walk/visit. We will do our best to accommodate same day cancellations. However, if our walker/sitter gets to your house you will be billed for that walk/visit.
- Discounts are offered only for Monday – Friday dog walks on a regular standing schedule. We do not currently offer any discounts for pet sitting.
- On-call requests do not qualify as regular standing scheduled walks. (ie. Adding an additional walk on one particular Monday to your standing Tuesday through Friday schedule does not qualify for a discount.)
- If your pet needs additional supplies we will purchase them and add it to your account.
- If your pet has special needs please discuss these, in full, with the front desk at the time that the reservation is made.
- We do not have any current vaccination requirements for our dog walking clients. We do highly recommend that your dog’s shots be kept up-to-date. Current NYC law requires that DHPP and Rabies be administered every three years for all dogs after the 1 year follow-up shots. It is good practice to keep the Bordetella vaccination current as well. This is NYC and dogs are incredibly social creatures. It is tantamount to getting an annual flu shot to protect your children.
- We require that all dogs have a 4 foot leash ready for the walker. We do not walk on longer leashes. They only tend to lead to tangled legs. We DO NOT use retractable leashes.
- We require that all dogs have a flat collar with ID tags on them for their daily walks.
- If you have scheduled pet sitting services we request that you leave a detailed note going over:
- Your departure and return dates
- Feeding instructions
- Where the litter box is
- Where additional supplies are kept (litter, cleaning, toys, etc.)
- An emergency contact, preferably with a key to your apartment
