At Woofs ‘n Whiskers, The Urban Dog and Cat Retreat, your dog will enjoy a healthy balance of play and rest, with plenty of individualized attention and care. The team at Woofs ‘n Whiskers strives to meet the needs of each and every dog to ensure a true home-away-from-home experience.
Woofs ‘n Whiskers boasts a 6,000 square foot backyard, where back-to-back play sessions are run all day long. The dogs are divided by size, age and temperament into their appropriate playgroups. The dogs go outside a minimum of four times daily. Each play session lasts from 45 minutes to two hours and is supervised by kennel personnel.
It has been our experience that a balanced rest/play schedule works best for most dogs. When the dogs are resting, they are inside, in their own comfortable, individual accommodations surrounded by any personal belongings brought from home. There is plenty of room to stretch and sleep in comfort.
At Woofs ‘n Whiskers, your dog’s meals are individually prepared according to your instructions. Our select house brand is Eagle Pack Adult dry food. If you prefer, you may supply your pooch’s favorite food from home. We also offer other premium brands of food for purchase.
We have experience administering insulin, fluids* and oral medications to dogs. If your dog requires medication, you can rest assured that he or she will receive the necessary care. Please discuss any health issues concerning your pet when making your reservation.
Two of our staff members are Pet Tech certified and are trained in pet safety and first aid, including CPR. We have ongoing relationships with many local vets, including Veterinary Emergency Referral Group, Brooklyn’s twenty-four hour veterinary emergency hospital. We are happy to discuss any concerns that you may have so you can rest assured that your companion is safe, comfortable, and well-cared for.
We require receipt of all shot records prior to your pet’s arrival. All dogs must be currently vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), and Bordetella; which is a semi-annual vaccination in New York City. Please note that your dog must be fully inoculated at least 48 HOURS prior to the start of the reservation.
